You have three options: a satellite dish pointed at Nilesat or Arabsat, the official apps of channels and platforms such as Shahid and Al Jazeera, or an IPTV subscription that puts Arabic channels in one app over your home internet. A dish suits you if you own your home and are allowed to install one, apps suit you for a single channel or platform, and IPTV suits you if you want every channel without a dish.
Option 1: a Nilesat or Arabsat dish
Most Arabic channels broadcast on the Egyptian Nilesat satellite (7° West) and on Arabsat (26° East). Dishes in Turkey are usually pointed at the Turkish Türksat satellite (42° East), which carries very few Arabic channels.
- You need your own dish pointed at Nilesat or Arabsat, a dish with several LNBs, or a motorised dish that moves between satellites.
- Depending on the city, you may need a larger dish than usual for a good signal, so ask a local installer.
- In rented flats the landlord or building management (Site Yönetimi) may not allow a dish, and many buildings have a central dish pointed only at Türksat.
- Arabic sports channels such as beIN Sports are encrypted on satellite and need their own subscription.
Option 2: official apps
Many Arabic channels and platforms stream online through their official apps:
