How to Watch Arabic Channels in Germany in 2026: Dish, Official Apps or IPTV?

The short answer
You have three options: a satellite dish pointed at Nilesat or Arabsat, the channels' official apps, or IPTV over your home internet. A dish needs your landlord's consent in a rented flat, official apps don't cover every channel or sport with Arabic commentary, and IPTV brings the channels together in one app with no dish.
Option 1: a Nilesat or Arabsat dish
- Landlord consent: in a rented flat you can't mount a dish on the balcony or façade without your landlord's (Vermieter) consent. German courts weigh a tenant's right to home-country channels against the landlord's interest in the building's appearance, and may treat the internet as an adequate alternative.
- Dish size: the small dishes common in Germany point at the Astra satellite for German channels. Nilesat and Arabsat need a bigger dish and precise alignment, and the size depends on your region, so ask a local installer before buying.
- Central systems: many buildings have cable or a central dish carrying German channels only, so Arabic channels don't come through it.
Option 2: official apps
- Series and shows: Shahid works from Germany and carries MBC shows and Arabic series. Read Shahid VIP plans and prices.
- News: channels such as Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya stream live on their official websites and apps.
- Sport: TOD and beIN CONNECT are built for the Middle East and North Africa. In Germany, Champions League rights sit with DAZN and Amazon Prime Video, with German commentary. Read where to watch football in 2026-27.
Option 3: IPTV over home internet
IPTV runs over the internet you already pay for, so there is no dish, no landlord consent and no installer. You install an app on your smart TV, Fire TV Stick or Android device and get Arabic and sports channels, movies and series in one place, and your subscription moves with you. All you need is a stable 10 Mbps per Full HD screen. If your internet isn't set up yet, read our guide to home internet in Germany.
